Buck’s Roadhouse
What began as hand-built cabins and home-cooked meals evolved through the decades into one of the region’s most iconic gathering places. In the 1970s, under the Scholz family, Buck’s added a dancehall, game room, and pizza saloon—ushering in the era of legendary New Year’s Eve parties and live performances that drew crowds from across the state. The 1980s and ’90s brought hotel expansions, a rising culinary reputation led by Executive Chef Chuck Schommer, and national recognition from top food publications and the James Beard Foundation.
Through the 2000s, Buck’s continued to grow with remodeled rooms, a wedding garden, and award-winning hospitality guided by partners Mike Scholz, Chuck Schommer, and David O’Connor. In 2020, Lone Mountain Land Company acquired the property with a commitment to honor its rich history while ushering in a new era. Today, Buck’s enters its next chapter—rooted in tradition, refreshed for the future, and ready to welcome a new generation of guests.
